A prayer in time of need
Loving God, in my time of need,
help me to know that you are with me
and you care about my situation.
Please calm me when I am anxious and
comfort me when I am sad.
Give me strength and help me to trust in you,
knowing that you will always love me, whatever happens.
May I have the courage to place my present
and future in your hands.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Give peace in our time, O Lord:
peace and reconciliation among nations;
peace and unity within the churches;
peace and harmony in our communities and our homes;
peace and love in all our hearts;
for the sake of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

A prayer of thanks
God our Creator and our friend,
we thank you for our good life,
for those who are dear to us,
and for those who have helped and influenced us.
We thank you for the measure of freedom we have,
and the extent to which we control our lives;
and most of all we thank you for the faith that is in us,
for our awareness of you and our hope in you.
Keep us, we pray, thankful and hopeful
